Department of Economic Development – Ajman highlights importance of economic planning and creation of a competitive economy during visit of delegation from Ministry of Climate Change and Environment

UAE, November 7, 2017 - The Department of Economic Development – Ajman (DED-Ajman) emphasized the importance of economic planning and its key role in helping create a competitive economy during a meeting with a visiting delegation from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) at the department’s headquarters in Ajman. The visit is part of the ongoing efforts to reinforce cooperation and enhance coordination among government agencies, in light of the move to create strategic guidelines and mechanisms aimed at driving in more growth for the emirate.
Rashid Hassan Sabbt, Acting Director of Support Services, DED-Ajman, said, “We welcome the visit of the MOCCAE, which reflects the current efforts to achieve the strategic objectives set in the country's vision. The visit is a demonstration of our commitment to consolidate the bridges of communication with other government agencies, entities and departments across both local and federal levels.”
Rashid Sabbt added, that the visit also looks towards facilitating a smooth exchange of knowledge, experiences, best practices and visions with the MOCCAE--which can be used as important references in the development of a strategic economic framework that can help in achieving total sustainable development in the country. Sabbt further noted that DED-Ajman is currently seeking to adopt best practices that can create a competitive business environment--attracting in more investment to the emirate, which will result in sustainable economic growth and a productive economy by the year 2021.
During the visit, both parties were able to discuss and review best practices and successful experiences in the field of contracts, procurement and finance, which is expected to be utilized in the joint vision of DED-Ajman and MOCCAE to build a sustainable economy based on innovation and knowledge.
