Ministry of Health and Prevention unveils details of ‘Visiting Consultants Program' for November 2017

UAE, October 29, 2017 - The Ministry of Health and Prevention has announced that the ‘Visiting Consultants Program’ for November 2017 will cover Khor Fakkan Hospital, Al Qassimi and Kuwait Hospitals in Sharjah, Saqr Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah Hospital. The participating doctors specializing in Nephrology, Urology, Pediatric and Adolescent Psychiatry, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, Bariatric surgery, and Ear, Nose and Throat surgery will provide consultation, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to patients of the covered hospitals.
Dr. Pramod Reddy is the Director of the Pediatric Urology Division at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Reddy graduated from the Guntur Medical College, University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, India. He completed his residency in General surgery and Urology at the Albany Medical Center Hospital, Albany, New York and his fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. His areas of expertise include kidney stones and genitourinary surgery. Dr Reddy will be available at Fujairah Hospital from November 5 to 9, 2017.
Dr. Fadi Maalouf is the Chief of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, Lebanon. He completed his residency in Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. His areas of expertise include child and adolescent psychiatry as well as suicidology. He will be visiting Khorfakkan Hospital on November 5, 6, and 12, 2017 and Fujairah Hospital from November 7 to 9, 2017.
Dr. Saad Al Dousari, Head of the Urology Department of the Mubarak Alkabeer Hospital, Kuwait, and the Robotic Unit of the Sabah Alahmad Urology Centre in Kuwait, will be at the Al Qassimi Hospital from November 13 to 16, 2017. Dr. Al Dousari completed his medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He then specialized in Urology at the McGill University in Canada and completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the US. His areas of expertise include robotic surgery.
Dr. Robert Hill is the Senior Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children NHS Trust, UK. He graduated from the University of London and attained a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, UK. His areas of expertise include limb reconstruction, hip dislocation, club foot, limb lengthening, and deformity correction. Dr. Hill will be visiting Saqr Hospital, Ras Al Khaimah from November 19 to 23, 2017.
Dr. Tomonori Yano is an Assistant Medical Professor at the Jichi Medical University, Japan. He completed his medical education and fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Jichi Medical School, Tochigi, Japan. His areas of expertise include endoscopic treatments, inflammatory bowel disease, and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP) in patients with altered gastrointestinal anatomy. Dr. Yano will be visiting Kuwait Hospital from November 19 to 23, 2017.
Dr. Carl Fredrik is a bariatric surgeon at the Department of Bariatric Surgery, Oslo University Hospital in Norway. After completing his medical studies, he trained to become a surgeon at the Simrishamn Hopsital in Sweden. He will be visiting the Khorfakkan Hospital from November 26 to 30, 2017.
Lastly, Dr.Mahmoud Fawzi is a Professor at the ENT Department of Cairo University. He completed his medical education and residency in ENT (ear, nose, throat) and head and neck surgery at Cairo University. Subsequently, he pursued his fellowship in head and neck oncologic surgery at The Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York, US. His areas of expertise include head and neck surgery. Dr. Fawzi will be available at Fujairah Hospital from November 26 to 30, 2017.
