Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec II: Two Colors and Three Time Zones for Traveling in Style
Last Update: Monday, October 9, 2017 : 09:34 (+4GMT)
Dubai, UAE, October 9, 2017: The Patravi TravelTec welcomes an exquisite new member to the family: Presented in 2015, the Patravi TravelTec II now gleams in rose gold and blackened titanium. This unique chronograph with three time zones makes for an elegant traveling companion.
The Patravi TravelTec family has captured the hearts of Carl F. Bucherer connoisseurs and aficionados for over 10 years, which is why the series continues to welcome new additions. This year, the brand is launching the Patravi TravelTec II featuring a distinctive case in warm rose gold coupled with a case back and pushers in lightweight titanium with a black DLC coating. This creates a highly vibrant and elegant color combination that is rounded off by a black dial and a black strap to ensure a sophisticated timepiece that really catches the eye.
Patented mechanism
Measuring 47.4 mm in diameter, the enormous rose gold case alone leaves a lasting impression. Its bold presence together with its everyday suitability—the watch is water-resistant to 100 m (10 atm of water pressure)—make the Patravi TravelTec II a firm favorite for confident men. The technical features are also highly appealing, particularly the unique addition of a chronograph with three time zones. A specialty of the TravelTec family, this patented mechanism exclusive to Carl F. Bucherer is integrated into the case and can be admired through a lateral viewing window. The pusher at 10 o’clock adjusts the rotating bezel with 24-hour scale beneath the sapphire crystal: Depending on whether the wearer is traveling west or east, the 24-hour ring can be moved forward or backward in one-hour steps.
Three time zones at a glance
The local time is indicated by the hours and minutes hands on a 12-hour basis. The minutes hand moves continuously, while the hours hand can be adjusted forward or backward in one-hour steps. When passing midnight, the date also changes both forward and backward. The second time is indicated by the 24-hour hand and the fixed outer bezel, while the third combines the 24-hour hand with the rotating bezel mentioned above. This unique system equipping the Patravi TravelTec is both a masterpiece of watchmaking art and an immensely useful function for everyday travel. The 24 time zones and associated reference cities are engraved on the base, with Lucerne—the home of Carl F. Bucherer—representing Central European Time (CET).
Short-time measurements
The Patravi TravelTec II also masters short-time measurements thanks to its highly precise, chronometer-certified caliber CFB 1901.1, which also features a chronograph function for timing sporting events that last anywhere between one second to twelve hours.
