Dubai Health Authority focusses on developing national talent in the health sector.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 10, 2017: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) felicitated outstanding medical students who are currently pursuing their medical degree and specialization.
Upon completion of the training program, they will work with the Authority.
The Authority also felicitated today 141 E¬mirati students who took part in the one-month summer training program at the DHA.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, said: “Fostering national talent in the medical sector is a key strategic objective of the Dubai Health Authority. We are keen to support national talent and have undertaken several ongoing initiatives and programs that support them so that they can enter the workforce and serve their country.”
Amna Al Suwaidi, Director of Human Resources at the DHA, said: “ The DHA has undertaken many programs to ensure we have a steady flow of Emirati talent that joins the workforce at the DHA. We sponsor medical students as well as DHA doctors for specialization programmes to ensure we build a highly-qualified talent pool for the health sector in the Emirate.”
Meead Ali, Head of talent management office at the DHA, said: “In 2016, the DHA started the medical and scientific training program for Emirati students. As part of this program, the Authority sponsors the cost of medical education for these students and when they complete their education, they work with the DHA. These students have completed one year of training and today the outstanding students were felicitated. Next month, the Authority will sponsor an additional 35 students who will join the medical training program in September 2017.”
Dr Suhaila Qayed, senior administration office in medical education department at the DHA, said: The DHA also offers specialization programs for graduate doctors in seventeen different medical fields.”
Dr Qayed added that in the medical field specializations are very important and therefore the Authority, focusses on such programs and priority is given to those specialities that are in need as per a need-based analysis study.
