Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center organizes first Walkathon
Al Ain, UAE, 25 May 2017: Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Centre organized a walkathon, to show the determination of its patients in leading normal lives. The initiative falls in line with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s recommendation to consider people with special needs as the determined ones and highlights the importance of acceptance and communication in changing the lives of people in need.
The walkathon, which involved the center’s patients, their families, and the larger community, was organised at Al Muwaiji Palace – Al Ain city, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, The general Administration of Customs – Al Ain and Al Ain Police Directorate – Al Hili Police and with the support of Lauzan Fashion and Tamra Events.
“The walkathon was meant to demonstrate what the determined ones can accomplish. We wanted to show people how determined our patients are. It’s now up to the wider community to reciprocate this can-do attitude by including people with special needs into society by engaging with them and communicating with them,” said Dr. Howard Podolsky, CEO, Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
