Abu Dhabi Ports Football Tournament Closes With ADNOC Champions

Abu Dhabi-UAE: 07 May, 2017 - Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of the Emirate's commercial and community ports as well as Khalifa Industrial Zone, announced the conclusion of their annual Stakeholders & Partners Football Tournament 2017, with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) claiming the tournament cup.
ADNOC participated with two teams ADNOC (A), who came first, while ADNOC (B) came second in the tournament. The General Authority for the Security of Ports Borders and Free Zones came third, followed by Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority in at fourth place, while Abu Dhabi Ports came in fifth place in the Tournament which has become synonymous with attracting highly competitive teams from different partner and stakeholder groups of the ports.
The tournament, held on the grounds of Zayed Port, took place from April 10th to May 2nd and included teams from Abu Dhabi Terminals, The General Authority for the Security of Ports Borders and Free Zones, Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA), Abu Dhabi Ports, The General Directorate of Civil Defence Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, ADNOC, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, Abu Dhabi Customs and Abu Dhabi Airports.
Teams were divided into three groups. The first group consisted of Abu Dhabi Terminals, The General Authority for the Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones, Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA), and Abu Dhabi Ports B. The second group included The General Directorate of Civil Defence Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, ADNOC A, and Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority. The third group was made of Abu Dhabi Customs, Abu Dhabi Ports A, Abu Dhabi Airports, and ADNOC B.
Commenting on the conclusion of the tournament, Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, stressed the dedication and commitment of Abu Dhabi Ports to engage its partners and stakeholders on multiple competitive levels, including sports, playing an active role in highlighting that involvement.
Captain Al Shamisi presented the ADNOC (A) team with the tournament cup, and congratulated all the other teams’ participation in the tournament. Al Shamisi congratulated the winning team and also honoured the remaining players for their high sporting spirit and competitiveness throughout the tournament.

We were happy to witness unprecedented participation and attendance throughout the three week period of the tournament, during which we witnessed some commendable skills and camaraderie. That success has motivated us to hold the tournament on an annual basis, and we will be seeing more versions of the tournament in the future. Such group activities foster a feeling of happiness and strengthen the bond we have with our partners and stakeholders.
