Growing demand for personalized content spurs increased demand for mobile video
Abu Dhabi, 23 March 2017: Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider, shared its vision video cloud solutions at the 2017 edition of CABSAT, the region’s leading broadcast, satellite digital media event, taking place March 21-23 at the Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai.
On day 2 of the event, Huawei experts highlighted the wealth of opportunities the region has to offer in the video market, which continues to be fragmented. Huawei also demonstrated how the company’s video cloud solutions will offer both telecom operators and content providers in the region with the necessary platform to generate new sources of revenue and monetize content, while providing consumers with a plethora of content options through a single source.
“The region has an insatiable appetite for video consumption and the industry has a growing population and continuously increasing penetration, in addition to the growing demand for personalized content on the go” said Allen Lu, Head of Huawei Middle East Video MET. “Both content providers and telecom operators have a great growth potential by tapping into video cloud solutions such as Huawei’s MuchTV. Video Cloud helps customers to quickly bring video services online, reduces time to market to a single week, reduces infrastructure cost by 90 percent and ensures the best user experience with data security.”
Much TV has already been rolled out by five telecom operators across the Middle East and reached over 3 million last year, and expected to exceed 10 million by end of 2017 across MENA region. The plug & play solution enables telecom operators across the region to launch video platforms quickly and at a low risk.
The three-day event saw the participation of over 900 brands, 13,000 professionals from across the region. Now in its 23rd edition, CABSAT provides the professional content entertainment industry with a platform to engage and collaborate with the industries decision makers involved in the creation, management, distribution and monetization of filmed entertainment and audio content.
