Abu Dhabi-UAE: 16 March, 2017: In keeping with its corporate social responsibilities, ADNOC Distribution announced its support for the GCC Traffic Week taking place across the GCC region from 12 to 18 March 2017. The 33rd edition of the annual traffic safety campaign is running under the theme of ‘Your Life is Trust’.
Throughout its nationwide service station network, ADNOC Distribution is seeking to raise awareness about the importance of adhering to speed limits, along with the dangers of using mobile phones behind the wheel, driving without a seat belt, and parking in spots designated for people with special needs.
Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Distribution, said: "As a key supporter of transport and mobility operations across the UAE, ADNOC Distribution recognises its responsibility to educate motorists on traffic rules. Our participation in the GCC Traffic Week provides us with an ideal opportunity to contribute to protecting the lives of drivers and passengers."
He added: “We are proud that ADNOC Distribution’s strategic partnership with the Ministry of Interior has played a major role in enhancing the safety of our roads. Apart from supporting various awareness campaigns, we ensure the road-worthiness of vehicles through offering technical inspection services as well as maintenance and repair services at our Salama centres and Autoserv car care centres.”
Including GCC Traffic Week, ADNOC Distribution has participated in three major road safety campaigns this year. The company supported the Ministry of Interior’s ‘Your Life is More Important’ campaign, which encouraged drivers to observe traffic rules and refrain from using mobile phones while driving, and the ‘The safer you are, the happier they are’ campaign, which was aimed at reducing fatalities on the country’s most dangerous roads.
