Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 4th of March, 2017:  In a first-of-its-kind campaign in the Middle East, a ‘Fly For Peace' exhibition will take place at DIHAD Conference & Exhibition happening from 21st to 23rd of March, 2017 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre,  featuring orphaned refugees' artworks that reflect their hopes for a peaceful future. This campaign was initiated by DIHAD's International Scientific Advisory Board (DISAB) in cooperation with Bilqees Sarwar Foundation, the charitable arm of Dubai-based humanitarian relief manufacturing company, NRS International. The event goes in line with DIHAD's 14th edition theme of ‘The Impact of Crisis and Disasters on Children.'

Making dreams fly through the #FlyForPeace concept
The Fly For Peace initiative is a kite-flying activity organised for 75 Syrian refugee children aged 8 to 12, who are living in an orphanage in Gaziantep, Turkey. It highlights the importance of education in emergencies and aims to promote the concept of peace through the refugee children's creativity.

The children will decorate their own kites depicting their dreams for the future, before flying them together in a group activity.

Follow the orphaned refugees' experiences on social media
DIHAD and NRS International will closely follow the refugee children's experiences, capture their dreams, and document how they fly their kites.

On the 6th of March, a kite decoration workshop will be conducted by an NGO volunteer at the orphanage. This will be followed by a field trip on the 12th of March, where the main kite-flying activity takes place. Help us raise awareness for education in emergency settings and support NRS International's campaign on social media with the hashtag #FlyForPeace.

Kites to fly from Turkey to Dubai
At the DIHAD Conference and Exhibition from 21-23 March, the Fly For Peace initiative takes off, where the experiences of the Syrian refugee children will be displayed through a creative photo and kite exhibition.
