Uterqüe Spring Summer 2017

Dubai, UAE, February 1, 2017: Balance; the state of a body when clashing tensions that work on it compensate by destroying each other. The tensions of volume, of shapes, of structures and the forces of colours. The decision of adding a bit here and subtracting there. Trying to find that fleeting moment of magic that happens when the perfect combination of elements is reached. Design. Architecture. Fashion. Art, after all. Expression. The necessary ingredients that, in the end, allow the final result to be harmonic; that tireless search of functional beauty.
The balance between art and Uterqüe’s 2017 Spring-Summer collection is perfect. In this season, garments are built in the same way that buildings are made; Fashion is turned into a place to live, a confortable space in where to express the elasticity and personality, the character. References come from the world of Frank Lloyd Wright’s and Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s architecture and mix up with exotic countries, the cities and the nature. The lines are the pillars of a collection with no stridencies; what’s important is the essence, the harmony.
Spring and Summer are seasons of plastic colours that seem to be taken out of paintings. Vibrant or pastels, shades are combined and mixed in structures as if they played in the hands of an artist that wants to paint rationalism and sunsets, flowers and academic school. Once again, the clashing tensions will compensate deconstructing each other; hot orange shades will turn sweet and baby pink tones will be bold, they will speak loud. Accessories will be a window to possibilities; the trust is again in handmade items, in renovated classics and in functionality. The pillars that dress the modern and feminine Uterqüe woman will be decorated with bags, shoes and semi-precious stones that will be inspired in the pre-modernism world of flora and fauna and the patterns that were famous in the 60s interior design. Uterqüe Spring-Summer 2017 is the harmony of balance, it’s applied Art.
