November 24, 2016 - The opening of the pioneering International Student Fest (ISF) saw a considerable turnout at the Meydan Gallery and Convention Centre in Dubai where a host of fun and entertaining events have been lined up as a platform for interactive learning and extra-curricular activities. The maiden edition - which is co-located with the autumn edition of the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX), the leading recruitment platform in the Middle East –is running until November 26, 2016.
Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E), the organizer of GETEX and ISF, said: “ISF is designed to take education beyond the classroom and focus on learning as a life skill through activities that involve team building, sport, trades and hobbies. The show, however, is not just solely for students. Faculty and other members of the academia can also enjoy and benefit from the event through various featured networking activities. We are confident that ISF will draw in large numbers of young and mature learners over the next two days. The debuting show is destined to grow into a calendar event comprising diverse institutions and companies involved actively and indirectly with education and learning from across the region”
Competitions and demonstrations in sport, fashion and culinary arts are among ISF’s highlights, in addition to a series of activities in the fields of art, design and digital technology, to name a few. For the first time in the Middle East, the show is showcasing an exciting and energetic bubble game called Knockerball. Other events include free photography workshops, tips for cake decoration and cookery, digital creative solutions and innovative yoga sessions.
ISF complements this year’s GETEX Autumn, which features various higher education and learning options for all age groups such as undergraduate and postgraduate courses; seminars for students and parents; student counselling and vocational and non-academic education.
