Sharjah Ladies Duathlon 2016 kicks off this Friday

Over AED 40,000 worth Cash-prizes await winners

Event welcomes women and young girls aged 15 years and over

Sharjah, UAE, November 7, 2016:  Registration for the Sharjah Ladies Duathlon is still open to all women and girls aged 15 years or over, as announced today by the Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC). The first of its kind sporting event for the Emirate of Sharjah, which is set to feature the twin sporting disciplines of running and cycling, will take place this Friday (November 11), from 06:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the perimeter of Al Qasimia University campus.

Participants interested in enrolling at the Sharjah Ladies Duathlon can also to take up the challenge individually or as part of a team. Women from all nationalities and fitness backgrounds are welcome to participate in the race, which comprises a 2.5 kilometre run followed by cycling for 9 kilometres and then another run over 2.5 kilometres.

Registration for the Sharjah Ladies Duathlon can be done online at SLC's website: www.slc.ae. Further information can be had by calling: 06 506 7701.

Sharjah Ladies Club will provide participants with the necessary sports equipment to compete in the Sharjah Ladies Duathlon, with the race organising committee designating a number of monetary rewards for the winners. First place winner in the individual category will receive a cash prize of AED 7,000, second place will get AED 6,000 and the third place will win AED 5,000. In the team category, the cash prize for the first place is AED 9,000, the second place's is AED 8,000 and the third place's AED 6,000.
