Abu Dhabi, UAE – 12 October, 2016: Abu Dhabi is at the dawn of all the magic that is Yasalam 2016. Residents have been gripped with anticipation for the start of the festivities that will blanket the city in entertainment. With only six weeks to go, excitement among the UAE community mounts as they look forward to an unmissable experience once again.
Now in its eighth successful year, Yasalam – the largest entertainment festival hosted by any race-host city has the capital geared up for an unforgettable time of community-wide activities and fun. The 2016 festival inaugurates with the ever-popular carnival style opening parade on Thursday, 17 November. This year’s festival will be bringing the community together as never before through a variety of eclectic city-wide activities. There is something for everyone to do as Yasalam 2016 brings entertainment to the Abu Dhabi community at race-car speeds.
MUSIC
Following on last year’s incredible success, the Emerging Talent Competition is already well underway with ten talented UAE finalists shortlisted. They will compete against each other for the chance to shine as the victorious winner at the Beats on the Beats stage on 24November. The competition offers an unmissable opportunity for eager local talent to be nurtured and mentored by leading professionals from the industry.
Beats on the Beach is stepping things up for Yasalam 2016 and will be bringing the Abu Dhabi community together to bask on the beach and groove to the sensational sounds. The soon to be announced, local and regional Emirati, Arab, Western and Filipino talent, will perform alongside an eclectic mix of international artists for three unforgettable nights. From Thursday, 24 – Saturday, 26 November musicians and singers will wow the crowds as well as welcome the winner of the Emerging Talent Competition to the stage.
If that wasn’t enough, the spectacular line-up for the After-Race Concerts, brought to you by du Live! will be performing live at the du Arena from Friday, 25 November to Sunday, 27 November. Award winning music legends –The Chemical Brothers, Lionel Richie and Rihanna, are all set to give the Abu Dhabi community memories of a lifetime!

Launched earlier this month, Get Driver Fit brought to you by Daman’s ActiveLife, brings in different and interactive ways to get in shape and make new friends. The free fitness and sporting activities are being held across the city. Lasting seven weeks and culminating in the thrilling Get Driver Fit Challenge brought to you by Daman’s ActiveLife on 17 November – Abu Dhabi is in for a jump-start to a healthier lifestyle. Popular favorites such as the Muscle Beach and variety of fitness classes and giant obstacle course at the GDF Fitness Zone are to return in efforts to motivate the city residents to be more active after a long lasting summer. Plus, the top performers will win a getaway to Goa, enough to get anybody moving.
Thursday, 17 November will also see the kick-off of the rest of the community festival events –all of which are bigger and better for Yasalam 2016. The crowd pleasing F1 Fanzone™ promises to bring the rush of the ultimate F1® fan experience to the regional residents and visitors. Motor sports enthusiasts and friends looking for a good time can race each other in simulations and contests designed to make pulses rev like crazy.
