Emirati Film Director, and long-term Land Rover Ambassador, Ali F. Mostafa takes us behind-the-scenes in the latest ‘My Journey, My Inspiration' film

Dubai, UAE, August 17, 2016:  Land Rover Middle East and North Africa has worked closely with Emirati film director and producer Ali F. Mostafa to reveal the seventh installment of its ‘My Journey, My Inspiration’ film series. Dubbed the UAE’s first director of international standing, Ali F. Mostafa has come a long way changing the face of film and TV production in the region. His ‘My Journey, My Inspiration’ film, produced by his award-winning AFM Films team which he pulled together with Emirati director Ahmed Abdulqader, recounts his success story as he continues to produce cutting edge work inspiring others to chase their dreams.

The ‘My Journey, My Inspiration’ series embodies the sentiment behind Land Rover’s MYLAND creative communications platform and is a collaboration between the brand and inspirational achievers from the region who have shaped their land. The achievers, from Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, Kuwait, KSA and the UAE, all share one thing in common: inspired by the culture and heritage of their land, they have succeeded in truly going above and beyond in their accomplishments. 

Growing up in the UAE, film always played a central role in Ali’s childhood turning him from action movie buff to a young movie maker enthusiast as he filmed everyone from his siblings and cousins. Pursuing his dream, he worked hard to harness his creativity, style and film making expertise during his time at the London Film School which propelled him into the heart of the industry. 

Commenting on his journey, Ali said: “People told me I was crazy and that it would never happen but I chased my dream for five long years. When I found out I would be making the City of Life film, I felt happiness, relief, excitement, accomplishment and a little bit of fear. I couldn’t believe it.”

Engaging with audiences across the region through his visual storytelling, Ali continues to produce and write avant-garde work in the form of feature films, shorts, documentaries and commercials. One of the pioneers of the Emirati film industry, Ali has never lost sight of his heritage: “My land is everything to me, and it starts with my family and extends to everything I do in my life. I live in a place that sets the perfect example for me. Everything done here is done for its people. After everything the country has given us, we have to give something back.”

No stranger to the Land Rover brand, Ali F. Mostafa has worked closely with Land Rover Middle East and North Africa in his role as the Middle East and North Africa brand ambassador and as a film director to bring to life projects such as ‘Classified’, the region’s first online branded entertainment series, ‘MYLAND.MYMUSIC.’, a musical collaboration between Land Rover and Sony Music Entertainment Middle East which launched the Sahara Al Arab song, and the ‘My Journey, My Inspiration’ film series recounting inspirational stories from achievers in the region.
