TaorminaFilmFest Opening Ceremony

Baume & Mercier supported #HomelessZero, Richard Gere’s campaign to support the Italian foundation PSD for “home first” project, through an auction with the one out of 62 limited edition watch designed for TaorminaFilmFest 2016

At the Opening Ceremony of the 62° edition of TaorminaFilmFest yesterday evening, Baume & Mercier was at the forefront in supporting #HomelessZero, the dedicated campaign for “home first” project, for whom Richard Gere, President of honor of the festival, has been passionate spokesperson for years.

The swiss watch was sold through an auction with the one out of 62 limited edition watch designed for TaorminaFilmFest 2016. This model has been designed to celebrate the art of film – the 39 mm 18K red gold case is enhanced by the sapphire case back adorned with the festival’s logo, while the design of its minuterie track is reminiscent of a film reel. It has been produced in a series of 62 pieces to celebrate the 62nd edition of the Festival and is available from June 2016, exclusively in Italy.

On June 8th at the American Embassy in Rome, Alain Zimmermann, CEO of Baume & Mercier, presented to Richard Gere the limited edition watch piece, at the preview screening of the movie ”Time Out Of Mind”. The proceeds will go now to Fio.Psd (the Italian Federation of Organisations for Homeless people).

Baume & Mercier is the main partner of this 62° TaorminaFilmFest, which will continue until the 18th of June in the magical setting of the Greek Theatre in Taormina, Italy.
