Dubai Parks and Resorts to open new employment opportunities for Emiratis at Careers UAE 2016

Theme park company to generate 1,000 jobs in 2016
Dubai, UAE, May 12, 2016: With Dubai Parks and Resorts on schedule to open several major, new theme parks and leisure attractions this October, the company has announced plans to recruit UAE’s brightest young Emirati talent at this month’s 16th edition of Careers UAE, held at Dubai World Trade Centre from 16-18 May 2016.
In line with Dubai Plan 2021 and the seven-year National Agenda, Dubai Parks and Resorts will aim to strengthen its Emiratisation programme by leveraging Careers UAE - a strategic platform that facilitates successful engagement between UAE national candidates at all levels of qualification and public and private sector organisations. Dubai Parks and Resorts’ will generate 1,000 new jobs with an aim to invest in and nurture a new generation of national talent for its roster of high-profile leisure and entertainment concepts.

Our Emiratisation programme has three separate streams to offer UAE nationals of all levels a fulfilling career within one of the fastest growing sectors in the region. The programmes are designed to empower participants to become industry leaders with an integral role driving forwards the operation of our company,” said Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi, Dubai Parks and Resorts’ Chief Executive Officer.
Forsati, Sahim and Helmi, the three pillars of Dubai Parks and Resorts’ Emiratisation programme, offer UAE nationals of all levels fulfilling careers in one of the region’s fastest growing sectors.
The six-month development programme, Forsati, or ‘my opportunity’ in Arabic, targets Emiratis with a high-school education level or below; Sahim, or ‘contribute’, offers direct recruitment and a minimum of three years’ experience across all Dubai Parks and Resorts departments to candidates with a high-school education level; and Helmi, or ‘my dream’, is a scholarship programme for 50 of the country’s most promising candidates under the age of 25 who carry a GPA of 3.5 and above.
Of the 50 Helmi candidates, 10 have been selected to participate in an intensive, six-month course in Theme Park Management at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. The remaining 40 candidates will complete their training in Dubai under the tutelage of visiting faculty from the Rosen College of Hospitality.
In addition to Dubai Parks and Resorts, as well as hundreds of other public and private sector companies exhibiting recruitment options and Emiratisation programmes, Careers UAE 2016 will play host to the fast-paced Talent Hunt during the first two days of the event. During the Talent Hunt, visitors can meet hiring managers from some of the top companies in the UAE in a speed interview format. The Talent Hunt is organised by InternsME, the UAE’s largest internship job site.
In addition, Bayt.com – the online recruitment portal – returns to Careers UAE for the fourth consecutive their Annual Thought Leader Event on Wednesday 18th May. Sessions will tackle pressing topics such as whether employers, educational institutions and UAE professionals are aligned to meet the demands of the new economy. Panellists will include the UAE’s top-brass: Mohammed Omar Al Qedrah, Director of Recruitment and HC Services Human Capital, DP World; Essa El Mulla; Chief, National Workforce Development, ENDP; Mohamed Alsaabri, Senior Director, National Development Human Capital & Administration, DU and; Prof. Abhilasha Singh, Dean, College of Education, American University in the Emirates.
Other activities during Careers UAE 2016 include Mission Possible, a treasure quest format that puts visitors’ knowledge to the test and win prizes, the Ideation Workshop which will focus on the creation of innovative workplaces of the future at the show’s activity area, as well as countless opportunities to meet and network with the nation’s most in-demand employers.
Careers UAE 2016 is open exclusively for UAE Nationals and HR practitioners. Female job seekers can enjoy ladies only access to the fair from 10:00 to 13:00 on Tuesday 17th May.
