Dubai, UAE, May 2, 2016: The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) launched a new initiative entitled ‘Falik Tayyeb’ to raise and spread awareness about traditional Emirati culture and heritage on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2016, which concludes on Tuesday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
His Excellency Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC), Mohammed Abdullah Bin Dalmook, the Director of Corporate Support at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC), Ibrahim Abdul Rahim, the Director of Events at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC), Salem Al Zumor, the Cultural Advisor at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) and Ibrahim Juma, the Arts Advisor at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) were all present for the launch alongside a number of the Center’s other f staff and members of the press.
It was highlighted during the launch event that this new initiative has been designed to maintain and preserve the rich and intangible cultural heritage of the UAE by passing it down from generation to generation and to safeguard the information surrounding it for researchers and those interested in the subject by any means necessary.
The express aim of ‘Falik Tayyeb’ is also to provide the right information to all related enquiries in this particular matter through a certified and reliable source, which is in line with the efforts and vision of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC).
His Excellency Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC), commented: “We are delighted to be one of entities that play an important role in the dissemination of our national culture and to safeguard our valuable heritage.
“We will continue to launch innovative initiatives, such Falik Tayyeb: to help translate our vision and achieve our goals in line with Dubai as a smart government.”
”Falik Tayyeb is a platform for researchers and scholars, who can call and enquire about anything relating to heritage by calling a toll free number. We will respond to all enquiries within 48 hours either via email, text message or calling them back. However, if some of the subjects raised require further clarification and explanation, we are ready to organize a lecture so that people can have a better understanding of the topic, whether it concerns Emirati life in the past, on the sea side, the mountain or the desert, pearl fishing or even matters relating to social life and Emirati terms and expressions.”
Bin Dalmook added that the service had been launched after two years of hard work and arrangements to provide intelligent services in accordance with the smart technology directives of the Dubai government and the sourcing of the right resources to answer the queries.
Mohammed Abdullah Bin Dalmook, the Director of Corporate Support at HHC, stated: “This initiative confirms the fundamental role played by our Center in continually striving to devise creative approaches that contribute to enhancing the lines of communication with all segments of society – be they residents or visitors – who want to get to know our authentic culture or even researchers inside and outside of the country. We are confident that this service will support the center’s message and help sustain our national identity.”
Meanwhile, the Emirati poet Hamad bin Humaidi Al Khasoni released an 80-page collection of 25 poems on the sidelines of the exhibition with its main themes including: the importance of sustainability, Oriental history, wisdom, nostalgia, camel riding and a nomadic existence.
