7th Annual Walk for Autism Expected to Draw Thousands to support Children and Families affected with ASD
To mark Autism Awareness Month, Child Early Intervention Medical Center, in collaboration with Dubai Government, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Healthcare City, and UAE Red Crescent shall host the 7th edition- Camelicious Walk for Autism.
Dubai, April 23rd, 2016: On Saturday, April 23rd, 2016, thousands of people from the UAE community are expected to participate at the 7th edition, Camelicious Walk for Autism, an annual event organized to raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders and to encourage the community to engage with children and adults on the spectrum and help them integrate into society.
The 3 km Walk for Autism has been organized by Child Early Intervention Medical Center every year in April since 2009. The event will be held at Zabeel Park from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Walk for Autism is supported by governmental, corporate and healthcare organizations, including our Title Sponsors Camelicious.

Dr Hibah Shata, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Child Early Intervention Medical Center said: “Many UAE residents are not aware of Autism. We believe it is our role to raise awareness and encourage the community to support individuals with Autism and inclusion in schools and in the society. Events such as the Walk for Autism serve to offer support to families of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, particularly with children on the spectrum. We are grateful to the organizations and healthcare providers who have joined our campaign to raise awareness about the signs of Autism and the importance of early diagnosis and early intervention, including all of the schools and nurseries who are participating in this year’s event and who have supported the initiative for inclusion in mainstream schools.”

The Walk for Autism 2016 will feature fun and activities for the whole family, including health, educational and entertainment activities such as performances by the Dubai Police band, Dubai Drums, music, arts and crafts, a talent show, children’s games, raffle draws and much more.
