BLOOVO.com introduces 30-second video elevator pitch to social recruitment platform

Feature addresses common complaint about unrepresentative CVs and mismatch between candidate and resume
Dubai, UAE, April 19, 2016 - BLOOVO.com, the Middle East’s online social recruitment platform, has introduced its innovative 30 Second Video Elevator Pitch concept to its site in a bid to address one of the most frequent causes of employer dissatisfaction – candidates turning out to be entirely different from the CV they have submitted.
“While speaking with hundreds of employers across the region, a common theme was that candidates during interviews were very often completely different from what their resumes stated. This is a major cause of dissatisfaction amongst employers because it obviously leads to wasted interview hours. We decided to launch our 30 Second Video Elevator Pitch as a very targeted solution for this problem,” says BLOOVO.com’s Co-Founder and CEO Ahmad Khamis.
The feature allows candidates to record and upload a 30 second video explaining what makes them a great candidate and suitable for the job they’re applying to. “An elevator pitch must be short and snappy, and ours is no exception. Candidates need to get their strengths and suitability for the job out in front of the recruiter within 30 seconds, which really leaves no space for embellishments,” Khamis notes.
Apart from cutting through the CV clutter for recruiters, BLOOVO.com’s 30 Second Video Elevator Pitch also helps candidates differentiate themselves from the rest. “For truly engaging candidates, the 30 second video pitch is an excellent way to make sure they don’t get lost in the thousands of CVs that might flow towards an application. It really helps jobseekers tell employers what makes them stand out,” Khamis adds.
