CITY WALK Revs-up Engines for Second Edition of ‘CITY OVERDRIVE'

Dubai-UAE: 16 April 2016: CITY WALK, the urban living destination by Meraas, has transformed into a vast motor sport arena for the second edition of CITY OVERDRIVE. The sensational 10-day motor festival showcases a raft of rare custom-built cars by auto-artists from the world over, as well as vintage models and super cars that have never been driven on the UAE roads.

On Thursday, 14 April, leading personalities of the UAE motoring circuit converged at CITY WALK’s Serendipity 3 Cafe to launch the second edition of CITY OVERDRIVE. Making a presence on the day were drift driver Dany Neville, Rabab Al Tajer, the first Emirati woman rally driver and Emirati kart racing driver, Haytham Sultan, among others.

The festival offers a celebration of sophisticated craftsmanship, unbridled power, engineering brilliance and sheer motoring magic with exhibits across a variety of categories - 4x4 and Big Foot, Bikes & Trikes, Tuned Cars, Classic Tuned Cars, and Super Cars. The event also provides visitors an opportunity to meet and watch some of the region’s best automotive technicians and builders in action.

Friends and families can compete with one another at the venue’s interactive ‘Race Room’ that simulates a real-time race track scenario or participate in an ‘RC Drift Race’ at the festival - each for a nominal fee. Meanwhile, kids can enjoy an exciting and real life game of ‘Geek Nation Kart’ - priced at AED20 per child.

In addition to all the breath-taking action, exclusive car groups from across the city will showcase their unique automobiles during weekends. Visitors are also invited to experience an exclusive underground party in CITY WALK’s basement parking space where car enthusiasts will gather and reveal their kitted up and modified cars.
