Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan inaugurates GETEX Dubai 2016

UAE, April 13, 2016- Under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Education, this year’s edition of the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX), the leading student recruitment platform in the Middle East and Asia, was inaugurated by H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, today (Wednesday, April 13, 2016) in the presence of senior government officials and high level universities delegates. Running until April 15, 2016 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, GETEX 2016 is expected to draw an audience of over 30,000 visitors and caters to students across all age groups The event offers visitors over 2,500 academic, vocational and training course options from around the world
Aside from the usual focus of Academic programs, the ongoing edition of GETEX sheds light on occupational and applied education, professional development and training. GETEX’s interactive platform enables admissions officers and career counsellors to better assist prospective students about diverse study programs, the benefits of various professions, and details about the chosen destination of study.
H.E. Sheikh Al Nahyan has lauded GETEX and its leading position as a strategic platform that aims to bring together the leading public and private universities in the UAE and the rest of the world. He stressed that the success of the exhibition has become a source of pride for the UAE and is considered as an important achievement in the efforts to develop a high-level educational system under the strong and unwavering support given by the country's wise leadership and their belief in the importance of science as an important foundation for progress, development, prosperity and a gateway to access a better future for present and future generations.
“Over the past few years, GETEX has proven itself as a strong impetus for national efforts that are aimed at investing in the potential of human capital through the opening of new prospects for the students to know about the latest academic, educational and training programs that will keep them at pace with the demands and requirements of the labor market in the 21st century. We call on everyone to take advantage of the rapid developments taking place in the education sector in order to build knowledge and upgrade potentials that are in line with the aspirations of our wise leadership for rehabilitating a generation that is distinguished by knowledge and innovation—leading them on to the march towards comprehensive development in the future,” concluded Sheikh Al Nahyan.
Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E), the organisers of GETEX, said: “GETEX 2016 opened today to guide and inform students from the region about the latest trends in education across the board, in order to improve their employability over the long run. Over 300 leading exhibitors will comprehensively address queries of students and parents through one-on-one meetings. Over the next two days, we anticipate a high turnout of visitors who are eager to pursue higher education, which will also benefits the education providers who can convert enquiries into enrolments through on-the-spot applications.”
GETEX is the Middle East's longest-running student sourcing event, organized by International Conferences & Exhibitions (IC&E), one of the longest-standing international exhibition houses in the region. The event will run from 10:00 am till 2:00 pm and from 5:00 pm till 9:00 pm on April 14, 2016 and from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm on April 15, 2016. Entrance to GETEX 2016 is free.
