Last Update: Saturday, April 9, 2016 : 13:17 (+4GMT)
Date: 01 – 30 April, 2016
Venue: THE BEACH opposite JBR
Brief: Visitors to THE BEACH opposite JBR this Dubai Art Season are finding themselves pleasantly surprised at all the creativity on display. The upbeat outdoor destination by Meraas is hosting award-winning artist Jenny Rossen and her magical sand art demonstrations all this month.
An Australian born artist, ‘Jenny the Sand Castle Girl’ is a professional sand sculptor who loves to make sandcastles, spreading joy with sand and water. Stationed on the sands across Surf Bite, the internationally acclaimed sand sculptor brings to THE BEACH a larger-than-life sand castle through five days of live sculpting.
Children are also invited to try out their artistic talent at a special arts and crafts workshop located opposite Surf Bite every Friday and Saturday throughout the month between 2:00pm and 10:00pm. Tickets for the workshop are priced at AED30 per child. The workshop aims to harness the inner artist in every child with patterned and multi-coloured sand art sessions.
In addition, little visitors to THE BEACH can also participate in a complimentary sand-sculpting workshop with Jenny opposite Surf Bite every Friday and Saturday from Friday, 8 April to Saturday, 30 April between 2:00pm and 6:00pm.
Minimalist in design and shaped with architectural definition, THE BEACH is styled with intent. The venue’s low-rise facade creates a sense of congruence with an innovative structure in harmony with nature. Uniquely set along the coastline of Dubai Marina, THE BEACH captures the essence of Dubai. Charming and urbane, warm and welcoming, the destination spans over 320,000 square feet and truly brings the region’s community together.
