AMSI alumni brings UAE's space ambitions to classroom to inspire students

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (March 9, 2016): As part of its efforts to highlight UAE’s stride towards space exploration and the contribution of its distinguished alumni, International School of Arts and Sciences (ISAS) - managed by the leading academic solutions provider Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI) - recently hosted Eng. Mohammed Abdulrahim Al Harmi an alumnus of Al Mawakeb Al Barsha, also handled by AMSI.
A graduate of the class 2000, Eng. Al Harmi is the Director of Space Operations Department at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to formally lay the foundations for supporting UAE’s efforts in the field of space.
Eng. Al Harmi spoke to an engaging audience comprising of future engineers and technology enthusiasts, acclimatizing students with the projects undertaken at the facility and the crucial role played by DubaiSat-2 and KhalifaSat earth observation satellites. He also shed light on the Emirates Mars Mission – dubbed as Al Amal or Hope – and expressed the significance of the nation’s progress towards building local knowhow for constructive space exploration and harnessing innovation to improve the world for a better future.
Eng. Al Harmi encouraged the young listeners to harbour dreams, set eyes on an ambitious goal, and remain inspired in the journey to achieve the same. The session was concluded by a casual discussion that aimed at sparking an internal quest to identify their own strengths and ambitions.
The rejuvenating session and high profile visit was a part of the school’s continued efforts to prepare students for a new era of accelerated knowledge and technological revolutions, and build a pool of productive and inspired individuals that realize the ambitions and dreams of the UAE.
