SEHA hosts pioneering edition of the First Abu Dhabi Pharmacy Conference

UAE, February 20, 2016- Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), an independent public joint stock company that owns and operates all public hospitals and clinics across the Emirates, hosts the first edition of the Abu Dhabi Pharmacy Conference. The event aims to bring together the most recognized names in healthcare and pharmacy practice worldwide, which starts on February 19, 2016 and will run until February 21, 2016 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The pioneering event will give professionals from the pharmacy, medical operations and other healthcare services the opportunity to advance their careers, gain new knowledge, develop new ideas for their respective organizations and the opportunity to network with peers and experts in the field. In addition, participants will receive 25.5 hours of Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education-approved (ACPE), knowledge-based continuing pharmacy education credits as well as 21 CME from the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD).
The event will feature presentations, workshops, exhibitions and networking sessions that will allow participants to meet and interact with pharmacy professionals and industry experts and leaders. The conference will highlight top patient care, pharmacy practice and industry concerns like advances in pharmacy practice, medication safety, informatics, ambulatory care and pharmacy innovations. Workshops during the conference will facilitate by leading pharmacy professionals and will tackle key topics like the implementation of USP797 and USP800; identifying risk with high alert medications; enhancing patient experience in the ambulatory setting and clinical cases in parenteral nutrition, to name a few.

We are confident that this conference will not only help in advancing the industry to international levels but will also reinforce the UAE's position as a global medical hub.”
The conference is expected to attract the participation of over 1,500 attendees. Aside from the planned workshops and lectures, the event will also host an exhibition for healthcare and pharmaceutical companies from the region and beyond to showcase and leverage their products across participating health care professionals. The first Abu Dhabi Pharmacy Conference is being supported by leading industry companies such as Pfizer, Sanofi, Novartis, Sandoz, Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Amgen, AstraZeneca, and Carefusion.
