Dubai, UAE, 6 December 2015: The first BBC Good Food Show Dubai will offer a huge assortment of food and gifts on display in the ultimate festive market experience as well as a beautiful Tea Salon in which to recover and relax once the shopping has been done.
Making its international debut in Dubai later this month, 17-19 December at the Dubai World Trade Centre and a part of the Dubai Winter Fest, visitors are sure to enter into the full festive spirit as they browse over yummy stalls filled with the very best seasonal products.
While many visitors to the event will be drawn straight to the Supertheatre to catch a live cooking demo or interview session with celebrity chefs James Martin, Paul Hollywood, Andy Bates, Silvena Rowe, Ed Baines and Atul Kochhar, others will be looking for seasonal inspiration and hard to find presents for friends and family.
Popular restaurant Jones the Grocer, purveyor of gourmet, speciality food, will be displaying a range of holiday items for sale such as panettone, mince pies, Christmas cake, and pre-packaged hampers that will make the best gifts for that person who is particularly tricky to buy for.
In the VIP area, Jones’ cheese experts will be on hand to offer a delicious selection of tastings of their most popular cheeses. Known for their famous ‘cheese room’ at the restaurant, their selection will be available for sale with experts offering advice and suggesting ideal gifts.
For a taste of Italy this festive season, visitors can seek out the team from Carluccio’s, the Italian café, restaurant and food shop, which will have a large variety of traditional Italian Christmas products as well as plenty of tasting opportunities.
Pana Chocolate, a dairy free, soy free and gluten free pure raw cocoa goodness, will also be onsite displaying their range of super healthy and delicious products with holiday gift boxes for the ultimate chocolate lover at the event. Other ideas will come from brands including Awani which produces special jams from Bali, Rust Kitchen from Poland, Mallet Gourmet and yummy goodness from Molten Me.
Once the shopping has been completed, a rest will be well deserved and there is no better place than the Tea Salon, courtesy of Gossip Café, the Emirati owned home-grown café which has fast become one of the most popular spots in town. Dr Shayma Nawaf Fawwaz founded Gossip Café when she identified a need in the UAE for a unique gourmet café experience.
A wide selection of English tea will be available as well as organic options from Arabic favourites from Morocco, Qahwah and Turkey. With mouth-watering delicacies such as gourmet bites, freshly backed scones with clotted cream, jams and an array of petit fours, there is nowhere better to relax from the hustle and bustle of the show.
Raha Moradi, Event Director of Turret Media, the organisers of the BBC Good Food Show Dubai said: “We are working with the great brands to ensure the very best of festive fare is available to our visitors. The show is going to be packed full with ideas to make this season one to remember.
“Our celebrity chefs are, of course, a big draw and we can’t wait to see their live performances on stage, but we also know that Dubai residents love to shop! We’re certain that there is a product to satisfy every visitor’s taste for the festive season.”
The BBC Food Show is supported by BBC Good Food Middle East magazine, Lime & Tonic, Zomato, Dubai Week Online, FoodEMag, Maggi, co-sponsor of the Supertheatre, FoodOnClick, sponsor of the Interview Stage and Starbucks sponsor for the Media Lounge.
