Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 30, 2015: The Pullman Dubai Jumeirah Lakes Towers, one of the newest additions to JLT’s hospitality sector, on the occasion of the UAE’s first Commemoration Day, has organized the Blood Donation campaign in collaboration with Dubai Blood Donation Centre of the Dubai Health Authority, the main blood bank in United Arab Emirates.
Commenting on the initiative, Fadeel Wehbe, the General Manager of Pullman Dubai Jumeirah Lakes Towers said: ‘The UAE’s Commemoration Day has been introduced earlier this year to recognise the sacrifice and dedication of Emirati martyrs who have given their life in the UAE and abroad in the field of civil, military and humanitarian service and we couldn’t stay aside not to mark this day with our hotel team at Pullman JLT. Run under the theme ‘Share Blood – share LIFE’, we were thrilled to hold the campaign and give back to community and help those in needs during the times of emergency in our own humble way. I would like to commend our entire team for their support and willingness to save lives and we assure this initiative will be held annually at Pullman Dubai JLT’.
As part of community oriented initiatives and to create awareness about the Martyr’s day and the significant importance of donating blood to help save lives, more than 50 hotel team members led by the hotel management team have donated blood.
The Dubai Blood Donation Center (DBDC) of the Dubai Health Authority was found in 1986 as the major blood bank of the UAE, the only blood supplier in Dubai that committed to providing a safe and adequate supply of blood. In collaboration with different institutions and organizations in Dubai nearly 35 blood drives are held every month at the organizations locations or on DBDC premises.
