Dubai UAE, November 30, 2015: This season, Penhaligon’s is building on their long and illustrious heritage, in celebration of their 145th anniversary. As a provider of gentlemen’s grooming requisites for over a hundred years, Penhaligon’s launches a new skincare range for men, to accompany the iconic No. 33 Eau de Cologne.
The iconic perfume house was established in 1870, a period of unprecedented adventure and discovery. The founder William Penhaligon, arrived in the vibrant city of London in the 1860’s to begin what would become an illustrious career. In 1874 he opened his first boutique on Jermyn Street, followed shortly by No. 33 St James’s Street. William built a reputation for his unique approach to fine perfumery, combining imagination with inspiration from around the world, using high quality ingredients and innovative formulations. To this day, Penhaligon’s continues to create original and pioneering fragrances, celebrating and building upon their founder’s legacy.
No. 33 Eau De Cologne
Named after a Penhaligon’s boutique at No. 33 St James’s Street, the Eau de Cologne is based around an aromatic composition of lavender. Lavender has been an essential component of numerous Penhaligon’s scents since 1870. Both William and Walter Penhaligon used the ingredient when creating such fragrances as Hammam Bouquet, English Fern and Blenheim Bouquet. Lavender continues to play a key role in several of the perfume house’s creations to this day and include Endymion (2003), Sartorial (2009) and Lothair (2014,) to name a few. The aromatic composition of lavender within No. 33 seemed only natural, when launching a fragrance to celebrate the perfume house’s 145th anniversary.
No. 33 opens in an aromatic burst of crisp citrus, rustic armoise and clary sage alongside a bracing lavender note. Incredibly smooth, the heart is enriched by warming pepper, ginger and cardamom and fresh, rosy geranium. Tobacco, cedar and vetiver add a dry smokiness, balanced by the restrained sweetness of tonka, amber and vanilla. A contemporary celebration of lavender in all its bracing charm.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Orange, Grapefruit, Armoise, Coriander, Clary Sage, Cypress
Heart Notes: Lavender, Violet, Black Pepper, Ginger, Jasmine, Rose, Muguet, Geranium, Saffron, Cardamom
