Dubai, United Arab Emirates- 25 November, 2015- Reichle & De-Massari (R&M), the globally active Swiss developer and provider of cabling systems for high-end powerful network infrastructures, today announced the appointment of Nabil Khalil to the position of Executive Vice-President for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa. In his new leadership role, Mr. Khalil will be tasked with increasing R&M’s penetration in the public sector, especially through involvement in the region's many FTTx deployment projects, and developing its office cabling business, especially in the data center segment and thus extend the company’s footprint in the region.
He intends to focus on key markets such as Turkey, the Maghreb region, and West and Eastern Africa. At the same time, he will aim to increase the vendor’s market share in target countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar. To maintain the company’s relevance and deepen its penetration into different vertical markets, Mr. Khalil will ensure that R&M remains strong in both copper and fiber optic cabling domains. “This plan is driven by high customer demand and will rely on a co-ordinated and aggressive team work and a focused market approach especially towards key customer accounts with the support of our strategic partners,” he said.
Mr. Khalil will report directly to R&M CEO, Michel Riva who said, “Since its establishment in the region, R&M has made significant investments which include our regional offices, a first-of–its-kind patch cord assembly in Dubai, as well as a fully equipped cable production facility in Riyadh. We have developed first level supports in the supply chain for speed, marketing for reach, technical engineering for flexibility, and training and consultancy for expertise. Under Nabil’s able management, these departments will work together as a unified entity that will continue to adhere to R&M’s family-values and professionalism. Our market partners and customers can rest assured that R&M Middle East, Turkey and Africa will maintain the extremely high level of service excellence that has become a hallmark of our business.”
Mr. Khalil has over 18 years of experience in the Gulf and especially the UAE, and has held several senior management positions in the IT industry. Prior to joining R&M, he worked with the MDS Site & Power Group where he played a key role in establishing and managing Computer and Power Technology, the ‘structured cabling and low current arm’ of the Group. He holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
Speaking enthusiastically about his appointment, Mr. Khalil said, “Broadband connectivity and FTTx projects are among the top infrastructure investments across the region and this is an exciting time to be joining one of the top three structured cabling vendors. With the backing of a strong team, I will look to strengthen our local presence, deepen our ties with the channel and position R&M as the cabling vendor of choice to public and private enterprises alike. While doing so, I will ensure that we follow R&M’s strategy of providing the broadest range of customizable Swiss quality copper and fiber optic solutions to meet our customers’ needs.”
