Message by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA on launching the national programme to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education curricula

Dubai, UAE, 24 November 2015: “The national programme to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship into the curricula of public and private higher education institutions in the UAE, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will contribute to developing creativity and innovation in the UAE. This supports the higher UAE policy for science, technology and innovation and the National Innovation Strategy launched by His Highness to make the UAE one of the most innovative countries in the world. The programme will also contribute to speeding up the transition towards a knowledge-based economy and make a significant development in scientific research, which is key to the progress of nations. It will also improve knowledge and technical capabilities to enhance the Emiratisation of knowledge and promote the sustainable development of the UAE. Innovation is one of the main pillars of the UAE.”
“The programme emphasises the commitment of our wise leadership to provide an environment that supports creativity and innovation throughout, and opens the door for new innovative ideas to improve performance and achieve the best results. It also establishes and disseminates a culture of creativity and innovation as a standard practice in work. This will contribute to improving services and develop efficiency and performance to achieve the UAE Vision 2021 to make the UAE one of the best countries by 2021.”
