Recent Advances in Touch Technology to Enhance Online Experience for UAE Web Surfers

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: With internet access from mobile devices exceeding that from laptops and desktops in the UAE, new advancements in touch technology will continue to change how users experience the online environment,says UAE’s leading mobile reseller, axiom.

According to a 2015 report by Global Media Insight, mobile phones accounted for 50 percent of the UAE’s internet traffic, while tablets accounted for a further 6 percent, leaving only 44 percent of internet traffic accessed from laptops and desktops. With a smartphone penetration rate of 78 percent in the UAE, touch screen technology advancements are providing UAE customers with new internet browsing options.

The recent advancements in such technology by leading smartphone manufacturers, combined with the efforts of businesses to evolve their online premises accordingly, has resulted in an enhanced internet browsing experience for customers,” added Al Bannai.

Touchscreen technology has further broken the barriers between people and technology, by providing users with an intuitive and instant means of utilizing devices. Devices incorporated with touchscreens also allow for a faster and more convenient internet browsing experience with features such as flicking through pages and tabs, zooming in and out instantly, simplified scrolling experiences, and direct interaction capabilities.

The latest innovation in touchscreen technology is the 3D Touch, taking Force Touch technology further by enabling smartphones to detect a wider range of pressure applied to the screens, and responding accordingly. With the new 3D Touch technology, users can peek through content without opening websites by lightly pressing on a link, open the link with a regular tap, or invoke additional options by pressing harder. Users can also use the technology to quickly copy a link, open a website in a new tab, or add a link to their lists.

The new technology also allows users to access frequently used apps faster, view previous images while taking new photos, take a peek at a location before enabling directions on online maps.
