Up-and-coming Designer C. Nicol Launches Own Handbag Label after Completing Popular Short Course Programme
United Arab Emirates –September 2015 – Renowned UK based Fashion College and celebrated institution London College of Fashion (LCF) is the must attend destination for budding fashion entrepreneurs in the Middle East. Taking place three times a year, with the next courses set for October 2015; LCF’s short course programme has become notorious in the region for providing the ideal platform for young designers, merchandisers and stylists to learn from the industry’s best and begin a career in the fashion business.
Cathleen Nicol recently launched her own handbag label, C. Nicol after taking LCF’s Handbag Design course; taught by Ann Saunders, LCF tutor and former designer for Laura Ashley and the Arcadia Group (Miss Selfridge, Topshop). The brand, inspired by iconic British labels, art and heritage, has been a huge hit so far in both London and Dubai. Now selling at The Fashion Palais boutique in Souk Madinat Jumeirah as well as online in the UK and Europe, the next C. Nicol collection will be a mini line, launching in Autumn 2015, called ‘Royal Winter’. Cathleen tells of how the London College of Fashion short course gave her the insight and knowledge she was looking for to embark on débuting her own brand.
“The courses I took with London College of Fashion in Dubai helped me to take my idea and dream for my own accessories label and make it reality. I often recall practical tools and advice that LCF tutors Ann Saunders and Toby Meadows imparted to our group when I am faced with a challenge in my business. I would recommend the LCF courses for anyone thinking of a future in the fashion industry.”
Barbara Bell, Business Manager at London College of Fashion, has been visiting Dubai for the short course programme since its inception in the region in 2010. She says “It’s always fantastic to hear the success stories of former students and fundamentally this ensures our return year on year with the knowledge that bringing unparalleled London industry standard courses is proving invaluable to young entrepreneurs in the Middle East. There is an abundance of talent in the region and LCF strives to offer new and varied courses year on year, in response to the demands from both clients and industry trends.”
London College of Fashion will return to the Vida Hotel from 23rd October to 5th November with an array of courses and consultancy sessions covering a wide spectrum of fashion fields. For those who are more adept or already working in the industry LCF also offers more advanced courses and consultancy sessions to further ones career.
