Abu Dhabi, 5 August 2015: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), in coordination with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, organized a blood donation drive at its Head Office in Abu Dhabi on July 28th 2015. A large number of employees from various divisions of the bank, ADCB customers and members of the public, turned up to make the generous blood donation to help save lives. The donation process was managed by a dedicated team from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City who tested all donors to ensure donation eligibility.
Dr. Majdi Abdul Muhdi, Head of Corporate Communications at ADCB said “This year’s drive was an absolute success with over 90 ADCB employees, customers and members of the public who participated in the blood donation. As a bank, we remain committed to playing an active role in supporting our broader community in the UAE and helping those in need.”
The blood donation drive is initiated by ADCB in response to the increasing need for medical emergency cases and blood disorders such as blood cancer, thalassemia, sickle cell, and anemia.
Dr. Muhdi added, “The aim of this blood drive is to contribute to building up the blood stock which is desperately needed during the summer months, when donations drop down due to people being away. It is of critical importance to ensure that people actively think of regular blood donations; the process takes a little time and effort, yet, it can absolutely save lives.”
