Multi-use development to give a boost to Dubai’s economy
Diverse mix of jobs from reception staff to General Managers
DUBAI, UAE – 14 JULY 2015: Al Habtoor City, the world’s biggest residential and hospitality development under construction, is set to employ thousands of people. The Al Habtoor Group said recruitment teams are hiring locally and abroad to ensure a diverse mix of nationalities and skillsets. The City, dreamed up by Al Habtoor Group Chairman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, will open its doors to the public later this year.
The Chairman, who built his first hotel on the plot in 1979, said Al Habtoor City will be a major boost to the local economy.
“There will be about thousands of staff in Al Habtoor City. It will be buzzing with activity. The jobs will include everything from reception staff to General Managers. In addition there will be aquatic coaches and various artists. There is a diverse mix of opportunities.” Al Habtoor said. “Because of the nature of the varied roles we will be hiring locally and internationally to ensure we get the best people for the job. We are anticipating at least 125 different nationalities working at Al Habtoor City. There will be a big focus on GCC nationals – including Emiratis to fulfill our Emiratisation program and ensure locals play an active role in our economy,” he added.
There will be more than 150 staff employed by Dragone, the world’s leading cultural creation company, for the exclusively choreographed water themed theatrical production within Al Habtoor City. This will include artists, crew and show management.
In addition Al Habtoor City employs approximately 5,000 construction workers, and once complete there will be multiple other jobs available in the restaurants along the marina and boulevard, as well as contractors for security and valet roles.
The Al Habtoor Group currently employs thousands of people in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in many sectors of the economy, including hospitality, automotive, car rental, education, real estate and publishing. In recent years Al Habtoor Group increased its hotel portfolio in Dubai. Its assets include the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection, Metropolitan Palace Hotel, Metropolitan Deira Hotel, the flagship Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah. Work is also underway on a new Metropolitan hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road, and an integrated polo resort in DubaiLand – The Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, which will include a St. Regis-branded hotel as the centerpiece of the development.
The Group also employs hundreds of people abroad. It has two hotels in Beirut, Lebanon, two hotels in the Hungarian capital Budapest, and one hotel in Illinois, USA. In addition, its auto division has witnessed growth bringing on new brands and expanding throughout the UAE.
