Lipstick transforms any dull look to bold and glamorous. Lipstick is definitely the must-have in every girl’s makeup bag.
This July, celebrate your lips for the National Lipstick Day and put on some Rimmel Kate lipstick!
A short overview of lipstick’s history
The first manmade lipstick was created 5 ‘000 years ago in Mesopotamia (current Iraq) where women grinded precious and semi-precious stones to apply to their lips.
Lipstick has then seen its biggest evolution in Ancient Egypt. Both men and women wore lipstick not only as a means to be beautiful, but also to protect themselves from harsh sun and desert wind. The beautiful Queen Cleopatra was often sighted with red lips.

Lipstick was also very important in England. Did you know that during World War II, all cosmetics except for lipstick were rationed? Winston Churchill decided to keep lipstick in production because he felt it had a positive effect on women’s morale!

“I have always loved beautiful lips but I didn’t want a colour that looked bland and felt dry on the lips. I really wanted to create a lipstick that gives you a cool finish with a beautifully rich intense colour. Comfort is key, the trick to looking great is to feel great.” Kate Moss
