Dubai, United Arab Emirates: June 29, 2015 - Victorian Minister for Energy and Resources, Lily D’Ambrosio, has launched the second annual International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) which will take place in Melbourne this November.
Ms D’Ambrosio said that Australia’s resources, equipment, technology and services (RETS) industry credentials and Melbourne’s reputation for holding large world-class events provide the perfect setting for IMARC to bring together global leaders - including those from the Middle East - from government, investment, exploration and research and development.
“We’re supporting Victoria’s resource sector to attract more investment, explore, innovate and create jobs,” said Minister D’Ambrosio.
“We urge manufacturers, technology and service providers to embrace opportunities and attend IMARC, to promote their capability to the resources sector in Australia and abroad.
“We look forward to welcoming resources ministers and senior business representatives from across the world to Melbourne.”
The conference, to be held from 9 – 13 November, will provide an opportunity for businesses to build relationships in the resources sector to grow their business and promote their capability in the mining sector internationally.
As part of IMARC, the Victorian Government will be hosting the “Promoting Best Practice Regulation and Policy Excellence” event, where resources ministers and senior business leaders from around the world will gather to discuss critical issues facing the sector.
The inaugural conference last year attracted over 2,000 delegates from more than 31 countries and is now positioned as one of Australia’s largest resources sector conferences and exhibitions.
