Abu Dhabi-UAE: 11 June, 2015 – Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has launched a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) campaign from 9 to 11 June as part of its mandate to sharpen focus on environmental protection and accelerate efforts to promote preventive health activities among employees and the wider community.
As a key component of ADNEC’s corporate culture, HSE activities feature high on the company’s agenda to provide a healthy and enabling workplace environment for employees. Through its holistic efforts, the company eventually aims to contribute to the objectives set by Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
Given this priority, ADNEC hosts annual initiatives such as ‘Stop and Drop’ that invites all staff members as well as members of community to donate their reusable electronic devices at designated drop-off points across ADNEC. Organised by ADNEC’s ‘green team’, the items collected through the campaign are donated to marginalized sections of the community.
In parallel with the eco-drive, the ADNEC Health and Safety team has lined up a ‘Healthy ADNEC’ campaign on 11 June to highlight the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and undergoing routine health screenings. Comprising two sessions, the first one from 10am to 12 noon will include general medical checkups including blood pressure monitoring, random blood sugar monitoring, BMI and body fat analysis. The second session from 12 noon to 1pm will feature a health talk and video shows on heat stroke and the optimum Ramadan diet.
ADNEC has called upon members of community to actively participate in the two campaigns and visit the centre to learn about ADNEC’s HSE activities and initiatives.
Last week, ADNEC marked the World Environment Day on June 5 with an hour-long educational session on the environment for staff members and the distribution of plants and shrubs to all participants as a gesture to promote environmental conservation and cultivation.
ADNEC offers 133,000 sq m of inter-connected floor space to match the expectations of a wide variety of events and exhibitions. Equipped with modern facilities and built to international standards, the venue attracted 1.6 million people across 327 events in 2014.
