Dubai, UAE, 19 September 2017: LG Electronics (LG) is on a quest to redefine the possibilities of tomorrow by introducing the most innovative home appliances and electronics available today. However, recently LG has introduced robots into its product portfolio and has showcased a variety of soon-to-be-released robots at various events across the world that will reshape tomorrow to make the lives of the everyday consumer more productive and convenient.
LG’s impressive collection of robots boasts simplistic usability and includes the Lawnmower Robot, the Hub Robot and HOM-BOT® in addition to the more specialized Airport Robot and Airport Cleaning Robot.
The Hub Robot united a diverse range of smart appliances under a single ecosystem, optimizing operations and enhancing convenience. The hub robot even utilizes Amazon Alexa’s voice recognition technology to allow for easier access and even boasts compatibility with smaller robots that can be used to extend the reach of the smart home.
Furthermore, the HOM-BOT® combines powerful cleaning performance with home security features and DeepThinQTM technology, enabling them to vacuum to adapt its routine as it cleans the house.
Although robots and smart Artificial Intelligence systems have long been employed to make many of the products we take for granted, they only recently began to enter our daily lives. Advances in smart homes and the Internet of Things (IoT) have made robotics accessible to the average consumer by developing smart ecosystems that bring an unprecedented level of convenience.
Robots are becoming more intuitive and user-centric enabling users to take control of their daily schedules, household tasks, home security and even entertainment as their smartphones provide even more connectivity than ever before.
In fact, a recent report by IDC stated that worldwide spending on robotics will reach USD 188 billion in 2020 fueled by new use cases and expanding market acceptance.
“LG is emerging as a respected leader in this dynamic space with its lineup of robots, each of which is designed to meet the specific needs of our customers,” said Yong Geun Choi, President LG Electronics Gulf. “Our primary goal is to create products that not only perform today but are also future-proof and equipped with voice control and deep learning capabilities to add new dimensions of productivity and convenience to people whether it is for consumer purposes or commercial activities.”
One of the best commercial examples available today to give people a glimpse of the future is LG’s Airport Robot. Designed with travelers in mind, the user-centric robot is engineered to recognize voice and answers questions in a variety of different languages to streamline air travel making the passenger’s trip much more enjoyable.
Furthermore, the Cleaning Robot can detect areas that require the most frequent cleaning, stores those locations in its database and calculates the most efficient routes to get there ensuring that the airport is as clean as it can possibly be.
More than just words, LG’s guiding principle results in innovations that actually do improve the lives of consumers. Home appliances, electronics and robots have traditionally been taken for granted. But with new innovations and an interconnected smart ecosystem, the everyday lives of people has not only become easier, but much more productive and efficient resulting in creation and facilitation of healthy and happy communities for generations to come.
