Dubai Customs launches Human Resources Initiative “Shokran”

- Buti Al Jumairi: We launch this Initiative as we seek to promote a favorable positive work environment and to focus on the employee as its basic element.
- Lubna Al Muhairi: The Initiative aims at encouraging positive behavior among employees and managers to cooperate with the Human Resources.
Dubai, 26 May 2015 - During the party held on 24 May 2015 at the Head Office of Dubai Customs (“DC”) in the presence of Mr. Buti Abdullah Al Jumairi, Executive Director of Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division, Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Khaja, Executive Director of Customer Management Division, Mr. Saeed Ahmed Al Tayer, Acting Executive Director of Policies & Legislation Division and a number of DC’s officers, Dubai Customs launched an innovative and distinguished Human Resources Initiative called “Shokran”.
Mr. Buti Abdullah Al Jumairi, Executive Director of Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division at Dubai Customs said, “Dubai Customs sets the plans and creates the human resource-centered initiatives, as the employees represent the actual investment of DC. As a part of the strategic objectives set by DC for the Human Resources Department, DC is keen to continuously develop excellent workforce and promote a positive institutional culture through which the employees are directed to focus on quality, excellent performance and sustainable enhancement relying on a number of human resources services as well as the amended and reengineered procedures so that the culture of DC will include, appreciate and adopt values like fidelity, honesty and sound behavior. Such culture will be reflected through the employees’ behaviors.
“DC launches this Initiative as it seeks to enhance the positive work environment, focus on the basic element of work environment, i.e. the human resources, provide the necessary support by improving the surrounding circumstances, honor the positive employees and encourage them to continuously and excellently perform their duties.” Al Jumairi added.
Ms. Lubna Al Muhairi, Director of Human Resources Department at Dubai Customs said “Shokran Initiative aims at encouraging the positive behaviors of employees and officers upon cooperating with the human resources through abiding by the bylaws, i.e. attendance, delivery of annual targets, delivery of performance assessment, compliance with the code of conduct as well as appreciation of the positive employees who daily promote positive spirit among their colleagues, and such appreciation will be given to the person who is nominated by his/her colleagues”.
“This Initiative will motivate the positive behavior and create a sort of self-control among the employees. Through such interactive initiatives, the Human Resources Department seeks to align the human resources programs and initiatives with the strategic objectives and priorities of Dubai Customs.” Al Muhairi added
At the end of the party, Mr. Buti Abdullah Al Jumairi, Executive Director of Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division at Dubai Customs honored a number of excellent employees who supported the Human Resources Department and contributed to the success of the projects and initiatives provided by the Department. Such employees belong to different departments at Dubai Customs. Al Jumairi wished them sustainable success and progress. Group photographs were taken for the managers and honored employees.
