Dubai, UAE: 26 May, 2015: Zespri Kiwifruit, one of the world's leading horticultural companies, has launched this year’s season of its delicious, golden-fleshed variety of kiwifruit in the UAE - Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit. Only available between May to September, the SunGold variety is a juicy, golden coloured kiwifruit that offers a refreshing sweet and juicy taste - perfect for the summer months.

Available from all leading supermarket chains in the UAE, Zespri SunGold is full of vitality with a superior source of vitamin C, dietary fibre, folate and other minerals and antioxidants, making it one of the most nutrient-rich fruits available. Scoring 11.4 per 100 grams on the nutrient adequacy score, SunGold is proven to be 10 times as nutritious as apples (1.8 per 100 grams) and contains three times the amount of vitamin C as oranges, providing 161.3% of the recommended daily allowance per 100 grams, in comparison to the 53.2% in oranges.

In the UAE kiwis are most commonly eaten by peeling the skin and slicing the fruit, however Zespri encourages consumers to adopt the New Zealand method of “Cut, Scoop & Enjoy”. By cutting the kiwifruit in half and scooping out the delicious juicy fruit inside Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit can be eaten easily and on the go.
