Following the recent earthquake in Nepal that occurred on 25th of April 2015 which killed more than 7,000 and injured twice the number, it was recorded the most powerful disaster that struck Nepal since 1934. Villa, Rihab and Rimal Rotana took a step forward and initiated an internal fund raising campaign that benefited all the 17 Nepalese colleagues from the 3 hotels and also conducted a clothes donation campaign in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent. The campaign had participation from all colleagues at the 3 hotels which generated an amount of AED 5,000 and 21 boxes of new, used clothes and linens from the hotels.
Mr. Kinan Al Ghraoui, General Manager of Villa Rotana, Rihab Rotana and Rimal Rotana, said: “Charity begins at home; helping our own colleagues who were affected by Nepal earthquake brings us a sense of hope and peace. We hope and pray that Nepal stays strong and come back to its glory days. Like someone said: many droplets make an ocean, I hope this small effort from our end helps the bigger cause.”
“It is also great privilege for us to be able to extend our help to the Nepal earthquake victims. As a team, we want to make our modest contribution by providing this donation to the Emirates Red Crescent and showing our support in this initiative.” Mr. Kinan added.
Mr. Mohammed Abdulla Alhaj Al Zaroni, General Manager, Emirates Red Crescent in Dubai received the boxes and thanked the representatives Mr. Mona Doush, Marketing Head and Mr. Jawad Ali, EHS Manager and their team for the efforts extended in helping Nepal earthquake victims.
