Law firm Eversheds has won the “International Law Firm of the Year” award at the Corporate Counsel Middle East Awards 2015 for its strong vision and focus on leadership. The Awards were hosted by Legal Week and the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC).

In winning the award, Eversheds beat off stiff competition from a number of other top tier law firms. The company was also awarded the “Property and Construction Team of the Year” award.

The wins awarded to Eversheds were among 16 categories and the law firm was the only organisation – locally and internationally – to have received multiple awards.

Held at Raffles Dubai on the 14th of May 2015, the Corporate Counsel Middle East annually celebrates legal excellence across the Middle East. The judging panel for the evening was chaired by ACC Middle East President Elias Hayek – Vice President, Legal, of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Judges included Cherine Ghali, GC of Dubai Group; Harold Koster, Director of the University of Dubai's College of Law; and Duncan Wood, Senior Legal Officer in the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs department.

The Eversheds team was led by Nasser Ali Khasawneh, Managing Partner Middle East, who commented:

“We are extremely proud of this recognition at one of the region's most prestigious awards ceremonies. It serves as a testament to our long-lasting commitment to our clients and demonstrates our capability to deliver high quality legal services across the globe. This was a team effort and I am proud of all of our people in the Eversheds team in the region and globally who work collaboratively and demonstrate innovative thinking every day so that we may better serve our clients.'

“This award only reinforces our commitment to meet the needs of clients across the Middle East- a region we cover quite extensively in terms of both sectors and the number of countries which we serve. We have always placed great belief in this region- we were, for instance, first-movers into the Iraqi market- and this win is just reward for our endeavour.”

Eversheds has a strong presence across the region and offer a full corporate service in the Middle East including transactional and general legal support to corporate clients, government agencies and financial institutions. The law firm currently has seven Middle East offices including Amman (Jordan), Abu Dhabi and Dubai (the United Arab Emirates), Baghdad and Erbil (Iraq), Doha (Qatar), and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
