Reem Al-Rawi believes in the ability of Artistic Translations through the creative process.
As every character, event and experience processes through layers of visual and conceptual translations, where words become stories merging with the visual essence to create pieces of art reflecting the hidden appearance of what we see and take for granted.
Her Artistic Expressions are affected by poetry, people, as well as global events. Her Art Work, and exclusive items derived from them, is intended to achieve a vision to reach a wider audience through communicating current global events and issues. As means of making a beneficial difference in repairing issues of identity crisis and social damage the world is experiencing today.
Reem also believes that Art of such cause should not be limited to the Visual Art displayed on walls, but should extend to include many forms of items that can be carried along and used on daily basis. Everyone should be able to carry such Artistic Statements merging with daily encounters and experiences The DESERT Clutch is one of those statements. An Artistic fashion item - mixing poetic calligraphy with the visual form to give a new visual view to the Desert character.
Reem Al-Rawi completed her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Architecture from Carleton University. Coming from diverse cultural and social backgrounds affects clearly her Design and artistic works. She participated in a number of international Art Exhibitions, contributed in planning and managing a number of social fundraising events in support of ongoing charity causes.
Her style tends to follow the mixture between the architectural style mixed with forms of Arabic calligraphy to reshape through colors and lines, scenes and silhouettes of site specific subjects.
