Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 22, 2015 – The Smart Skyscrapers Summit proudly welcomes UTC Building & Industrial Systems as Gold Sponsor of the 2015 edition of the event, to be held on 11-12 May 2015 at Sofitel The Palm Resort and Spa, Dubai, UAE. The summit is produced by global conference organizers Expotrade. UTC Building & Industrial Systems will be showcasing vertical transportation and integrated building technologies at the summit. Richard K. Pulling, Vice President – Sales, Global Major Projects, Otis Elevator Company, UTC Building & Industrial Systems, will be speaking at the summit with a presentation titled, ‘Vertical Transportation and Integrated Building Technologies – Creating Order and Convenience.’ UTC Building & Industrial Systems’ commitment towards innovation and sustainability finds the ideal platform at the Smart Skyscrapers Summit, which seeks to showcase the latest innovative technology and solutions to fuel sustainable and smart skyscrapers.
UTC Building & Industrial Systems’ presentation will explain how the use of vertical transportation and security systems integration enables safe and convenient ‘wayfinding’, and will detail the use of technology to create relationships among building systems and building tenants to benefit all concerned. The discussion will also showcase integrated building technologies to enable the smart skyscraper to be ‘green’, efficient and enhance the tenants’ building experience.
Rapid urbanization across the world has led to greater demand for spaces for office as well as residential spaces. With space availability an issue, modern urban development has led to the emergence of taller buildings. In such a scenario, the importance of vertical transportation that takes into account energy efficiency as well as user comfort is magnified further. It is especially relevant for Dubai and the UAE, which are making rapid strides in sustainable urban development.
The importance of sustainability and innovation in urban buildings and the choice of the Smart Skyscrapers Summit is put into perspective by Rolando Furlong, Vice President, UTC Building & Industrial Systems Middle East & Turkey, who says, “As the world’s largest provider of building technologies, UTC Building & Industrial Systems is committed to creating a future with buildings that are sustainable and provide superior functionality through smart system integration. By participating in events such as the Smart Skyscrapers Summit, we aim at sharing our knowledge and experience in this matter with top professionals in the industry. We hope that through open dialogue we can support this trend and improve the awareness on how UTC Building & Industrial Systems is innovating on the field of building efficiency, system integration and better occupant experience.”
Brad Hariharan, Regional Director, Expotrade Middle East, organizers of the conference, said “The partnership with UTC Building & Industrial Systems is a particularly relevant one, given our common aims of promoting sustainability and innovation in skyscraper building. We are very happy that the Smart Skyscrapers Summit affords a perfect opportunity to showcase their solutions in vertical transportation and integrated building technologies and we look forward to a long and meaningful association with them.”
