Kate Moss for Longchamp - Chic and Rock'n Roll Clutches for Spring 2015
Last Update: Thursday, April 9, 2015 : 18:05 (+4GMT)
Kate Moss and Longchamp form one of fashion’s most enduring partnerships. It all started, of course, with that first cult advertising campaign back in 2006, and subsequently blossomed into a full-scale creative collaboration with the launch of the Kate Moss for Longchamp leather goods collection in 2010.
The collaboration goes from strength to strength, with Kate’s emblematic Gloucester holdall one of Longchamp’s most in-demand lines. This season, however, Kate has chosen to focus her fashion eye on another of her favourite pieces: the clutch. Although vastly different from the spacious Gloucester, in which she famously declared she could carry her whole life around, this neat, diminutive design shares significant similarities – a vintage vibe, a chunky buckle, a concern for practicality – that are indicative of Kate’s unique style.
The model has reworked the original clutch in four new variations for Spring 2015. The first reflects her love of animal prints with a striking giraffe pattern in black, yellow and white on baby calf hair trimmed with black python-style calfskin. For the second, Kate took the same palette and transformed it into bold blocks of colour on python-style calfskin for a graphic look that nods to the Sixties. With the other two designs, she indulged her rock ‘n’ roll sensibility with rows of black nickel-finish studs on soft suede calf in two of her signature shades: classic black and neutral taupe.
While the original clutch can segue seamlessly from day to evening, Kate also wanted to create two after-dark versions, so she tweaked the proportions of the design to transform it into a glamorous baguette. Getting into party mood, she chose silver python-style calfskin for one and iridescent shagreen-look leather for the other.
Day or night, iconic style is at your fingertips with the Kate Moss for Longchamp Spring 2015 collection.
