Dubai, United Arab Emirates (April 2015) – Al Ain Water, one of the leading bottled water brands in the UAE, is proud to announce that it is the title sponsor for the UAE National Under-19 tournament, which is being organized by the Emirates Cricket Board. The inter council tournament will kick off on 7th April, with the matches scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, and the finals slated for 10th April.
“We are extremely happy to be the title sponsor of the U19 National tournament. Al Ain Water has always encouraged and strongly support local talent, be it in the professional or sporting field and is committed to increase involvement with local communities,” said Mr. Fasahat Beg – Executive Vice President, Consumer Business
Division, Agthia Group (PJSC). “Al Ain Water recently announced its co-sponsorship of the Board’s Emirati Development Program, and is working closely with the Emirates Cricket Board to identify local players and develop their skills from the grassroots levels.”
Emirates Cricket Board Chief Executive Officer, David East, said, “This inaugural end-of-season Under 19’s tournament is an integral step in our development pathway, and we are very pleased that through the support and insight of Al Ain Water, we can create an opportunity to identify, recognise and assess possible UAE representative players.”
Commenting on the selection process for the tournament, East said, “Each cricket council, within the UAE, has a very important role in the success of this tournament, where each council has been tasked with the responsibility to select and coach their top 15 players, and only 1 team can take the honours, so as well as inter-council pride being played for, so is the opportunity for a player from within their youth programme to be identified, and considered for UAE National U-19 team selection. We are very grateful for each council’s commitment to this new tournament.”
In addition to sponsoring the Under 19 National tournament, Al Ain Water is also the official sponsor of the Emirati Development Programme and beverage sponsor of the Emirates Cricket Board.
