Dubai, United Arab Emirates (March 15, 2015): Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI), a leading academic solutions provider which manages both ISAS and Al Mawakeb Schools, participated in the 7th edition of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, which was held recently at the Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Several events were organised including four major competitions for children in English and Arabic – The Hamadan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center Qasidah Par Coeur, Chevron Reader's Cup, Taalem Poetry Award and the Oxford University Press Story Writing competition – wherein a number of AMSI students won accolades in various categories.
Mr. Nijad Hamadeh, Head of Arabic Curriculum at AMSI said: “Congratulations to each AMSI student who performed so well at the festival. We are proud to see them cherish the Arabic language, our heritage, and enjoy literature and poetry. It is an experience they can't get anywhere else. We are extremely happy to be able to participate in such festivals that provide students with the opportunity to use languages to interpret and express real-life messages.”
AMSI Student Winners
The Chevron Readers' Cup 2015 witnessed more than 270 teams from 100 schools across the region compete with one another, with only top 16 teams proceeding to the finals. The competition was held in Arabic and English in two age groups – Primary and Secondary.

The 4th Taalem Poetry Award honoured student poets from across the UAE. The competition, which was held in Arabic and English, got over 600 entries in total, divided into age age-specific categories.
Hend Taher (12 – 14 age group) and Nour Al Shaer (18+ age group) from Al Mawakeb School – Al Garhoud were the second place winners in their respective age groups. The theme of the competition was “Wonderland”.
The winners were presented awards by renowned international poet Roger McGough and Emirati poet Adel Khozam, among others. Emirate Airlines also printed the best entries including AMSI students' winning poems, in a booklet published in dual language books.
The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is the largest celebration of the written and spoken word, bringing people and authors from across the globe to promote education, debate and above all else, love of reading and writing. During the festival over 130 authors held talks, debates and workshops for readers and audiences of every age, keeping festival-goers mesmerised.
