Middle East’s largest consumer IT and electronics show expands offering with hottest deals on latest tech products, home appliances and connected lifestyle devices
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 12 March 2015: The region’s largest and most anticipated consumer IT and electronics show, GITEX Shopper Spring 2015, adds a new dimension to its offering this year with the launch of Shopper Smart Living – a dedicated section with the latest in home appliances, energy efficient white goods and smart home tech. Expanding on the consumer electronics show’s reputation for unbeatable deals on the latest consumer tech products being launched around the world, Shopper Smart Living brings the latest in innovation and eco-friendly advances in everything from washing machines, refrigerators and dishwashers to air conditioning units, ionizers and lighting.
Taking place from 1 – 4 April 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the third edition of GITEX Shopper Spring 2015 and the debut of Shopper Smart Living are expected to meet the increasing demand for home appliances and consumer tech products that is being driven by a fast growing local and regional population. With figures close to 9.6 million residents in the UAE, the market for in-house appliances alone is forecast to reach AED 4 billion by 2017 . Added to this is the region’s considerable appetite for the latest consumer electronics and the increasing smart connectivity that is becoming an everyday part of life in business leisure and at home.
“Technology touches at least one point in almost every consumer’s life these days, and in most cases, many more. GITEX Shopper Spring and Shopper Smart Living will offer consumers a wealth of choice for almost every corner of their homes, offices and everyday lifestyles, so this is really about smart shopping,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). “Last year’s GITEX Shopper Spring generated over AED 101 million in sales, and welcomed more than 125,000 visitors. We expect this year to be even bigger, offering consumers the perfect one-stop-shop destination to discover the latest products to improve their home, work, school and personal leisure time.”
The additional opportunity being presented by Shopper Smart Living is particularly exciting for world class brands that are already annual exhibitors at GITEX Shopper, enabling them to increase their product showcase into the new dedicated section.
Samsung Gulf Electronics is one such brand, with Mohammed Gharaibeh, General Manager of Home Appliance division commenting: “Samsung is changing the way people interact with their technology, and our home appliances are setting the pace for a new age of innovation. Products such as our WW9000 Crystal Blue Washing Machine merge state-of-the-art design, performance, and energy efficiency with wireless capabilities for an easier, and more reliable cleaning experience. Likewise our premium Chef Collection line uses sensor systems and LCD screens to make culinary excellence the standard in your home. This is the future of home appliances, and customers can observe and even experience everything that stands just beyond the horizon at our stand.”
Promising shoppers the widest variety of gizmos and gadgets at the best prices under one roof, fun activities for families and a dedicated Metro station just steps away, the spring edition is a premier not-to-be-missed event.
GITEX Shopper Spring 2015 and Shopper Smart Living will take place from 1 - 4 April and will open from 11:00am – 11:00pm every day.
Tickets are AED20/- per person, include access to both GITEX Shopper Spring and Shopper Smart Living and are available at the venue and select Emarat outlets. Entry is free for children under the age of five.
