Dubai, February 26, 2015: The Hilfiger Denim Spring/Summer 2015 collection, Heartland, is inspired by an All-American road trip across the United States. Heading off the beaten path, the collection travels from desert and mountain terrains to stunning coastal vistas – visiting some of the most picturesque, unique and quirky spots in the country. This exploration of America’s midland embraces the outdoors to the fullest, resulting in surplus, maritime and military influences combined with Hilfiger Denim’s signature rock‘n’roll twist.
Women’s
The adventure begins in the Mountains, where it’s all about mixing: jersey and leather, nylon and mesh, woven and knit, fleece and lace. Technique plays an important role, with cutout fleece, over-dying, cold dying and metallics appearing throughout; faded, natural and raw edges further emphasize the rugged aesthetic. Western influences – bandana prints, plaids, embellished studs and Navaho prints – are seen in graphic tees, trims and rib detailing. Formula one red, blue depths and classic white form the key color palette, while pops of cactus flower and bonnie blue add an unexpected twist. It’s a fresh, modern and sophisticated interpretation of Americana.
Heading south into the Desert, the signature style embraces a neutral, sandy aesthetic with washed out, vintage-inspired color tones. Metallic accents make a statement in knits, graphics, embellishments and contrast stitching. Denim washes add a rugged effect, and the new bomber jacket completes the relaxed, vintage aesthetic. Fresh camouflage and animal prints are key, while color blocking and florals also appear in tees. Sun-faded yellow cream, copper and autumn blonde are offset by hints of peapod green, deep sea coral and bijou blue.
This all-American road trip ends at the Coast where the look combines the resort appeal of Miami with vibes of laid-back Los Angeles and preppy New York. Fresh stripes mix with ethnic influences and tropical florals, while beaded embellishment and retro graphics complete the look. Woven and jersey mix sundresses are ideal for days spent at the beach. Denim styles feature lace, tie dye and rough hems, while eroded, tinted and destructed treatments feel perfectly worn-in.

Men’s
The Hilfiger Denim men’s adventure begins in the Desert, where authentic Americana inspires the first fashion group. Prep is given a biker twist – with inky blacks and dark indigos as key colors – and road trip influences are seen in graphic tees. Fabrics are coated and washed, for a worn-in look that’s textured but not heavily destructed. Prints experiment with scale, making for oversized, exploded and exaggerated shapes; meanwhile, five different shades of camouflage can be layered on top of one another for an eclectic effect. Pigment dyes and woven shirts make a key statement, while the signature biker jacket adds an edge to every look. It’s authentic and effortlessly cool.
The second stop on the road trip is in the Mountains, where athletic styles influence a clean, crisp, collegiate aesthetic. American sports inspire graphic tees, with simplistic logos and clean lines. Formula one red, folkstone grey and marshmallow white form the core palette – seen in details like tippings, zipperpulls and trims – and are offset by pops of turquoise; knits and shirts also incorporate sea pink. T-shirts aren’t washed and bottoms play heavily with mid-blues. It’s simple, collegiate and fresh.
The adventure ends at the Coast, where summertime prints and hues are seen throughout. Basics are reinterpreted in a bright palette of tomato red, peacock blue and lime punch, and grounded with whites and chambrays. Swim shorts are the must-have item, available in a variety of photo prints, preppy stripes, solids and camouflage patterns. The nylon jacket is also a statement piece in solid pop colors. Hawaiian prints, summer wovens and shorts reflect the laid-back aesthetic.
