IDEX and ADNEC Host Distinguished Guests and Exhibitors at Emirates Palace

Abu Dhabi, 25 February 2015: The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), alongside the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), hosted a formal networking event on Monday night to demonstrate hospitality and generosity towards their guests. The event took place at the prestigious and local landmark hotel, Emirates Palace.

IDEX was officially launched on Sunday, 22 February under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, with more than 1,200 exhibitors participating from 55 countries from around the world.

The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Major General Dr. Obaid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for IDEX; Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Chief Commercial Officer, ADNEC; and Mr. Saleh Al Marzouqi, Chief Executive Officer of IDEX, as well as members of the United Arab Emirates military dignitaries.

Exhibitors and partners were also welcomed to attend alongside selected media from around the world. The format of the evening was an ideal setting for all IDEX and ADNEC stakeholders to network, exchange experiences and knowledge share.  

During his ceremonial speech, Mr. Saleh Al Marzouqi, Chief Executive Officer of IDEX, reinstated the position of IDEX on the global defence stage, “The exhibition provides an ideal platform for global decision makers to gather under one roof and discuss the key innovation seen in the defence community taking place across the world. IDEX has become an essential meeting place to bring together participants from the most prominent experts and visionaries seen in the military sector to discuss strengthen ties and on-going and new partnerships."

Mr. Saleh added: "We always look to provide a wide variety of facilities such as conferences, press briefing rooms, demonstrations and interactive sessions to ensure all topics associated with the advancements in military equipment and the defence industry on a whole are showcased. We strongly believe that we have been able to further deliver on our promise and on-going commitment to the military and defence community at this year’s IDEX.”

The networking event also witnessed His Excellency Major General Dr. Obaid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee at IDEX, thank the efforts of the full IDEX Organizing Committee, as well as those from ADNEC staff members, who have all helped to develop, yet another, triumphant IDEX Exhibition.
