Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation Hosts 10th Anniversary Celebrations

•    Recognizes 30 employees for successful completion of 10 years with AMAF
•    Endowment assets exceeded AED950 million

Dubai-UAE: 21 February, 2015 – Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) marked its 10th anniversary with a gala celebration at the Armani Hotel in Dubai. His Excellency Obaid Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman, AMAF, as well as members of the Board, and His Excellency Tayeb Al Rais, Secretary General of AMAF were among those that headlined the event. The event also honored 30 staff members for completing 10 years of service at AMAF.

Acknowledging the committed efforts of the employees, His Excellency Tayeb Al Rais said their performance would serve as a benchmark for other employees aspiring for excellence.

He said: “Today, we have arrived at a glorious milestone in AMAF’s journey. This achievement validates our continued commitment to articulate the vision of Dubai leadership in promoting social solidarity and inspiring the spirit of compassion among the members of the community.”

Providing a snapshot of AMAF’s key accomplishments, Al Rais added: “Throughout the past 10 years, we have achieved remarkable growth in waqf and minors affairs. The waqf units managed by AMAF have grown from 1,025 to 3,538 units, while the endowment assets exceeded AED950 million by end 2014.

“We have also opened the first green mosque in the Islamic world as part of Dubai government’s vision towards achieving environmental sustainability. We are gearing up to open AMAF’s flagship project, the Family Village, which will provide more than 100 kids with a secure and balanced family environment. Furthermore, the Salma emergency food aid initiative that has to date distributed more than 200,000 meals to Syrian refugees in Jordan is set to enter its third phase."
